HARVEY Gaskell recently reappeared in the cobbles, coming face to face with Sam Blakeman.
But there’s an even bigger to watch out for in Coronation Street – his half-brother Damon Hay.

The newcomer portrayed by former Shameless legend Ciarán Griffiths settled into Weatherfield life in late 2022.
Damon was hoping to bond with his son Jacob who did everything to stick to the straight and narrow after being in cahoots with killer Harvey Gaskell.
The thug was imprisoned after wreaking havoc in the cobbles and killing Natasha Blakeman who he mistook for Leanne Battersby.
While Damon may seem tamer and less blood-thirsty than his half-brother, Corrie producer Iain MacLeod has warned viewers not to trust first impressions.
Iain promised the character will be causing “lots” of trouble in upcoming months, perhaps even surpassing Harvey.
“He’s dangerous, he first might seem more sophisticated than his brother Harvey because he’s less of a blunt instrument”, Iain told The Sun.
“But what we discover in the not too distant future is that
more polished, jovial veneer masks something every bit as dangerous and brutal as Harvey.”
While he’s held back from spilling all the beans, Iain teased Damon will be impacting “a lot of people’s lives” in Weatherfield.
“He brings criminality into a family that could probably do from moving on from their past then wham! They’re right back in the mess thanks to him.”
Aside from his criminal activities, Damon will find the time to seduce a well-known Corrie lady in a shocking affair storyline.

“As the year goes on, he has a magnetic attraction for a notable high profile female character who ends up having her head turned, which has far reaching consequences” Iain added.
To top it all off, he may not be the only member of his family to shake things up in the cobbles.
Iain MacLeod revealed there have been talks to bring back Harvey’s aunt, Sharon Bentley, who hasn’t been seen since 2021.
