The 42-year-old recently took to Twitter to share a behind the scenes look at filming the hit comedy-drama.
The video showed himself getting dry with blowdryers, getting a COVID test, getting his armpits shaved and filming in a dark and gloomy rainstorm.
He tweeted: “Here’s a behind the scenes look at the not so glamorous side of shooting in paradise featuring blowdryers, COVID tests, torrential rain, ants, heat exhaustion and of course the AMAZING crew who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the magic of Death in Paradise to life.”
Despite the harsh conditions, Ralf and the crew are all smiles and look like they are enjoying the challenges.
Fans rushed to comment and show their appreciation for the show’s cast and crew.
One said: “Thank heavens for hairdryers eh? And for all these wonderful people who create the illusion that you’re cool, calm and collected. The lady who styled your armpits should have her own show I reckon.”
Another wrote: “Most people don’t appreciate just what goes into making a show, especially the key roles behind the scenes.”
A third penned: “Oh, the glamour! I hope Leah was getting hazard pay or at least some sort of medal.”
The DI Neville Parker actor has teased a romance for his character in the upcoming season.
He revealed that “Neville is immediately smitten” – and it certainly looked that way when he met Sophie.
“But it’s not as simple as that because he’s still missing Florence terribly. He’s still quite burned by that experience.”
Neville’s previous feelings for DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert) didn’t go anywhere as they parted ways as just good friends.
So it would be good to see him matched up with someone who shares his feelings.
Sophie seems to share Neville’s fondness of home comforts, if her taste in food is any indication.
And matchmaker Catherine is sure to keep her eye on the pair.
Ralf previously played Antony Royle in The Royle Family and Jonny Keogh in the first six series of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
He is currently engaged to very successful US playwright and screenwriter Lindsey Ferrentino.
The couple met in 2016 when Ralf was cast in the play Ugly Lies The Bone, which had been written by Lindsey.
Last Friday, Ralf paid a moving tribute to his co-star Don Warrington.
Speaking about working with Don, Ralf said: “The show stands or falls on whether the audience takes them into their hearts.”
The actor expressed that he was “lucky” to work with Don, branding him a “living legend”.
“Every time I’m in a scene with him, I’m thinking about how lucky I am,” Ralf shared.
The BBC star also spoke about his fellow cast mate, Shantol Jackson who he said was an “incredible addition” last series, as she “fitted in easily”.
The popular show is filmed on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, with cast and crew spending months at a time on location.
The BBC had to halt filming for the latest series due to heavy downpours of rain in the Caribbean.

Ralf is the longest-serving detective on the show – starring in four series and two specials.
Death in Paradise series 12 will begin on 6th January 2023.
