Silent Witness fans all have the same complaint as BBC drama returns

EMILIA Fox is back on our screens in Silent Witness – with a case so complicated it has fans switching off.

The murder mystery series launched its 26th season this week with a two-part special called “The Penitent”, with Fox’s character Dr Nikki Alexander inexplicably getting tangled up with an Italian Mafia-like mob known as the Ndrangheta.

On tonight’s episode, Nikki was left fighting for her safety as she started recieving photo messages proving someone was watching her in her home.

They also started threatening the lives of those she loved, forcing the forensic pathologist to spring into action.

During the course of the show she was threatened over the phone, and even somehow managed to survive a van explosion without a scratch despite being locked in the back.

However, with the series now so long-standing, and far-and-away from its initial story of a crime procedural, things are getting so out of hand at Lyell House fans are beginning to switch off.

With the latest developments, they are getting so confused they’re not sure what’s even going on.

“Must admit I’m finding this story confusing and difficult to follow. I’m hoping next week’s story will be better,” wrote one.

“Wtf have you done @BBC It was confusing, lacked credibility of any kind, and looks like a box ticking exercise,” said a second viewer. “The bbc has literally killed it.”

While a third wrote: “What a total disappointment,  have no clue whats happening,  just want a normal murder please.”

“I don’t believe there is a human on planet Earth, the writer included, who could rationally explain what the f**k is going on in #SilentWitness,” joked a fourth.

The new series will run for 10 episodes, with a different case for the foresnic pathologists to handle every week.

Silent Witness continues Monday at 9pm on BBC One.
