A month and a half ago, the finale of Line of Duty’s sixth series aired, with the future of AC-12 hanging in the balance as Kate Fleming (Vicky), Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Ted Hastings finally unmasked H, aka the ‘Fourth Man’.
While fans are still waiting to hear if Line of Duty will be renewed for a seventh series, TV viewers won’t have to wait long before seeing Vicky resume her police work on screen – albeit in a different capacity.
Trigger Point, an upcoming ITV show, is produced by Jed’s production company HTM Television, starring Vicky as bomb disposal operative Lana Washington and Adrian Lester as her co-worker Joel Nutkins.
Vicky shared her excitement over the new series on Twitter, posting first look pictures of her and Adrian in action.
‘Meet Lana Washington & Joel Nutkins! We’re off to an explosive start!!’ the actor wrote. ‘Can’t wait to reveal more as we go along…we’ve got an incredible cast!! And the crew are creating absolute gold! Trigger Point!!’
In one of the photographs, Vicky is shown either taking off or putting on her protective goggles, wearing a vest which states ‘explosives officer’ on the front.
In another image, she and Adrian are staring at something in the distance, both looking alarmed as they carry out their dangerous work.

Vicky’s role as a bomb disposal operative will undoubtedly require her to get her hands dirty, with an image from a scene depicting her lying down on the ground, using a torch to peer underneath what appears to be a vehicle.
But if anyone’s up for the challenge, it has to be the former AC-12 officer.

Jed tweeted that he was ‘excited to be back filming with national treasure @Vicky_McClure’, in addition to working with the ‘brilliant @AdrianLester’ for the first time.
In Trigger Point, Lana and Joel have a close connection, having served together in Afghanistan.
When the capital is faced with a terrorist threat, the explosives officers are tasked with trying to find those behind the bombings as quickly as possible.
Vicky’s Line of Duty co-star Martin praised her for her new drama, responding to her tweet by stating: ‘Yessss mate looking fierce some duo that.’
‘Amazing! Super excited to see you in another action role – James Bond next??’ one fan remarked.
Trigger Point is currently in production and will air on ITV.
