Happy Valley is back after seven years for its third and final season, with fans already hailing it as the drama of the year.
On Sunday night, Sarah Lancashire returned as Sergeant Catherine Cawood for the first new episode in the last series of Sally Wainwright’s award-winning show, and there was plenty of thrills and spills.
In the first ep, Catherine found the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, which leads her back to murderer and rapist Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton), while her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) is going behind her back in an attempt to forge a relationship with his dad Tommy.
Elsewhere in the valley, a local pharmacist is in trouble with a rival gang when a neighbour gets arrested for possession of diazepam.
There’s already so much going on, and fans are no doubt eagerly anticipating the next episode to see how things develop.
So, here’s anything you need to know about how and where to tune into the final series.
The series continues next Sunday (January 8) at 9pm on BBC One, and it’ll stay in that timelot for the duration of its run.
How many episodes of Happy Valley series 3 are there?
