This Morning presenters Andi Peters and Josie Gibson were left in awe on today’s programme when they met the UK’s strongest couple.
Paul and Shannon Smith joined the co-hosts in the ITV studio to share their incredible weight-lifting feats, which are almost too unbelievable to fathom.
Shannon, who was crowned the world’s strongest woman, also recalled managing to carry a 270-kilo car on her back for a total of 15 metres, leaving us with our jaws on the floor.
Paul and Shannon, who were married last year, met within the strongman’s circuit, after first chatting over social media.
Now married, Paul is the UK’s strongest man, having won the 2022 edition of the Gorilla Glue UK’s Strongest Man, while on her Instagram bio, Shannon explains she was crowned the LW World’s Strongest Woman in 2021, and has twice won the title for England’s strongest woman.
‘You’re sat here right now as the world’s strongest woman,’ Josie said to her in amazement, as the couple sat next to each other on the sofa.

When asked to reveal how much they’ve actually lifted, Paul shared that he’s lifted a magnificent 200 kilos over his head, which is the equivalent of 440 pounds or 32 stone.
Shannon, who explained that she’s half of Paul’s bodyweight, has lifted 100 kilos over her head, and has also lifted an Atlas Stone – which is a concrete ball – weighing 140 kilos.
Plus to top it all of, she mentioned the not-so-easy accomplishment of carrying a car that weight 270 kilos on her back for 15 metres.
During a recent post on social media, Shannon opened up about how she’s been ill in recent weeks and therefore unable to train as much as she’d like to.
‘The amount of training that I’ve done in the past 8 weeks is probably the same as I usually do in around 1-2 week’s. Holidays and then getting a few illness is making me feel like I’m back to square one but I’m determined to get my routine back now and hit some decent numbers again,’ she shared with her 12,000 followers.
She added: ‘I definitely needed the mental and physical break, my body was done in from around mid year and really needed some time away, but I didn’t want 8 weeks of it ?. I’m so excited to train properly again.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
