A made for TV romance? Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace captured more than just the audience’s attention when they joined When Calls the Heart in 2019 — they also caught each other’s.
The actors began working together during season 6 of the Hallmark Channel series playing Nathan Grant and Fiona Miller, respectively. While their characters aren’t romantically involved, McGarry and Wallace sparked a real-life relationship off camera.
More than one year after fans met the duo on the TV show, McGarry confirmed via social media that he was dating the A Song for Christmas actress. “Photo evidence,” he captioned a series of Polaroid pictures with Wallace in November 2020.
One month later, the Once Upon a Prince actress gave fans another glimpse at her relationship with McGarry, sharing a one-of-a-kind gift of the duo hanging from her Christmas tree.
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” she wrote, quoting Elf. Wallace cozied up to the Canada native in a black-and-white photo that was made into a heart-shaped ornament.
The twosome continued to keep their romance somewhat under wraps throughout 2021. After celebrating Wallace’s 28th birthday together in late October 2021 — while wearing Anchorman costumes — the pair began sharing a few more moments with their fans.
The Undercover Cheerleader star called her boyfriend “the source of 99 percent of my laughter” on his birthday in March 2022.
That same month, the couple costarred in their first joint Hallmark Channel movie, Feeling Butterflies. They have since appeared as the co-leads in 2022’s My Grown-Up Christmas List.
“Check out this ⭐️@imkaylawallace’ss movie My Grown-Up Christmas List tomorrow night at 8/7c on @hallmarkchannel,” McGarry wrote via Instagram in July 2022 alongside a carousel of pictures of his love on set. “Glad she let me be in it with her. ❤️.”
The duo took their relationship to the next level in December 2022 when the Heartland alum proposed.
“Forever❤️,” Wallace and McGarry captioned an Instagram video announcing their engagement. In the clip, the lovebirds shared a kiss while the Killer Ending star showed off her diamond sparkler.
