THEY’RE the appliance of the moment – speeding up cooking times and reducing energy bills.
But as any air fryer fan will know, the downside of using the device is having to clean it afterwards.

However, one man has revealed his secret formula for keeping his air fryer clean with absolutely no scrubbing at all.
He took to his TikTok page to share his method, as he began: “I had always cleaned my air fryer wrong and I didn’t know.
“From now on I just clean it like this.”
Explaining that the air fryer basket ends up greasy and dirty once it has cooked meat, fish or chicken, he added: “The first thing people usually do is get a sponge and start scrubbing.

“In addition to spending a lot of time scrubbing it, you can end up scratching or even ruining the Teflon of your air fryer.”
Instead, he takes one tablespoon of baking soda and sprinkles it over the bottom of the basket – making sure it’s as well covered as possible.
Next, do the same thing with three tablespoons of washing up liquid, and three tablespoons of white vinegar – again making sure the base is fully covered with the products.
Once you’ve done that, add two cups of hot – not boiling – water.
“You can see the water is already changing colour, releasing all the grease,” he said.
Leave it for 10 minutes, before tipping the dirty water away.
And for any residue still left on the air fryer, use a sponge with a tiny bit of washing up liquid on it to gently wipe it clean.
Rinse everything off and you’re done.
“Thanks for sharing, will try it,” one person commented on the video.
As another added: “I love it!”
“Best hack ever,” a third praised.
But not everyone was convinced, with some insisting it was far too much work.

“Nah bro. Just add water to it and turn it on for 5 minutes,” one wrote.
As another added: “Too much work…I just put a little washing up liquid…stand it for 30mins..then dish washer…done.”
