There’s a lot to be said for staying home on New Year’s Eve – dodging the queues for the loos and not forking out a fortune for a glass of prosecco.
So whether you’re on your own, sharing a meal for two, or having a few friends over for dinner, the supermarkets have got you covered.
Metro.co.uk has checked out offers from Sainsbury, Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons, and Ocado on their New Year’s Eve dine-in food.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s up for grabs.
Sainsbury’s

It’s two for £12 on selected pizzas at Sainsbury’s – and that deal also includes two sides and a dip.
Pizzas are from Sainsbury’s own-brand range and include both classic crust and stuffed. Toppings suit both vegetarians and meat-eaters – there’s a cheese feast, meat feast, chicken, and veggie delight.
There’s plenty of choice on sides – from halloumi fries to mozzarella sticks, breaded mushrooms, breaded chicken pops, garlic dough balls, cheese and bacon potato skins, and dirty fries.
Tesco
Grab your Tesco Clubcard, or sign up for one here, as that unlocks the best savings – including a £12 Finest range dine-in meal for two featuring a main, side, desserts, and a drink.

Mains in the deal include chicken tagine, chicken with leeks and white wine, butternut squash and goat cheese lasagne, and pork meatballs in a tomato and chorizo sauce. Sides on offer range from chunky chips and creamy mash to caramelised onion and cheddar flatbread.
The £12 also includes a dessert – choose from cheesecakes, crumbles and sticky toffee puddings, while drinks in the deal include a bottle of red, white or rose wine, a pack of Coca Cola Zero, Peroni lagers, or a non-alcoholic Bottle Green elderflower and apple option.
Selected party foods are also three for £6.
Waitrose

Yep, it’s another £12 deal!
At Waitrose you’ll get a main, side, and dessert in the offer. You can choose from their luxury No 1 range – including beef bourguignon, three cheese macaroni, steak and red wine pie, lamb moussaka, and chicken and prawn paella.
Sides include truffle mash, potato crush with spring greens, and triple-cooked chips, while desserts on offer range from melt-in-the-middle chocolate puddings to lemon tarts.
Waitrose also has a £12 pizza deal – two pizzas, one bread and a dip, and £11 for two mains and two sides in the Asian range, which features Thai curries and Chinese dishes.
Party food is buy four pay for three (cheapest free).
Asda

It’s all about party food at Asda this New Year’s Eve, with three for two on items such as cocktail sausage rolls, cheesy mini pizzas, quiche, and mini beef kebabs.
Some vegan items are included in the deal, such as southern fried no-chicken stars, and no-chicken gyozas with soy and ginger dip.
Ocado

Dining in seems a tad more pricey with Ocado’s deal – £20 for two with a main, side, dessert and drink or chocolate – but then you don’t have to get out of your PJs at all.
Plus it’s luxury stuff – we’re talking M&S’s best-ever lasagne or steak pie, a load of options from their Gastropub range, and Charlie Bigham’s sticky toffee pudding.
Prosecco is also on the list (usually £10 on its own), along with a Prosecco Rose that’s usually £12.

Morrisons’ New Year’s Eve offer is all about three for two on their frozen party food – such as 12 duck spring rolls and mini peppered steak bakes (both £2.99). They also include vegetarian and vegan choices.
Selected wine and prosecco are three for £18 until January 1.
