However, Lily and her mum Sarah hit the jackpot with their bag from Marks & Spencer – which contained an impressive £32.50 worth of food.
Showcasing the “jam-packed box”, which they paid just £5 for, on TikTok, Lily began by taking out a green apple and peanut butter snack pot.
“This is already open but doesn’t really matter – a massive box of flapjacks,” Lily said, grinning.
“That looks really good, that’s really exciting!”
Given that Christmas has just been and gone, there were some festive items in the box, including some brandy cream, a turkey pie, turkey gravy and some bread sauce – which baffled the mum and daughter.
“What’s bread sauce?” Lily said, after initially thinking it was a pot of mashed potato, while her mum was equally nonplussed.
There were also 16 deluxe pigs in blankets, with Lily noting that neither she or her mum are fans of the festive favourite.
“But we know people that like them so it’ll be alright,” she said.
She continued to take out a Mexican-style rice and avocado salad, “which looks really tasty”, followed by two apples and a pack of chargrilled chicken pieces.
Concluding the haul, Lily pulled out two small bottles of blood orange and cranberry juice.
“So yeah, really jam-packed box,” Lily said.
“That’s exciting!”
