Here’s what you need to know before doing your big shop at Sainsbury’s.

When are Sainsbury’s branches opening and closing?

Most of Sainsbury’s supermarkets open their doors from 7am to 10pm or 11pm.

Closing times for the supermarket can be from around 10am to 4pm on a Sunday though.

But this can vary between stores.

It’s best to check exactly when your local store will open and shut using Sainsbury’s store locator tool.

When is the best time to shop there?

Google has a tracker which allows you to see when the peak times are.

If you search for “Sainsbury’s” and then click on your nearest store, it will show a bar chart of when the store’s busiest times are.

What should I buy when I’m there, and what are the rules?

The Government and supermarkets have urged shoppers not to panic buy or stockpile.

They’ve also asked shoppers not to touch items unless they’re buying them to limit the spread of the virus.

But there aren’t any limits on items at the moment although you will have to follow social distancing rules and wear a mask, unless you are exempt, in store.

You’re also asked to shop alone if you can.

Can I order online?

Yes, you can still shop online and Sainsbury’s delivers seven days a week too.

If you spend £40 or more, delivery costs start from a quid.

If you spend under that then it’ll cost an extra £7 and there is a minimum order value of £25 to checkout.

You just have to check that Sainsbury’s can deliver to you postcode when you book your slot online.

What about click and collect?

Sainsbury’s is still offering a click and collect service.

It’s free if you spend over £40, otherwise it’s £4.

You can book a click and collect slot on the Sainsbury’s website here.

And more seriously, shoppers were furious over the mystery of ‘missing’ Nectar bonus points.

But we have six secrets to bagging ‘yellow sticker’ food from supermarkets if you’re after saving on your shop next time you visit the store.
