Leicester look set to cash in on the ex-Monaco man after rejecting a bumper new deal to remain in the East Midlands.
The Gunners are known to be in the market for a new midfielder in the summer as Mikel Arteta desperately looks to bring in a No8.
Arsenal are claimed to have held talks with his representatives in January over a potential switch to the Emirates.
Tielemans put potential suitors on red alert in March after expressing his desire to play in the Champions League.
That has given Arsenal hope of securing his services with the club on the brink of returning to Europe’s premier competition with three games to play.
They can guarantee a top four spot on Thursday should they beat rivals Tottenham in the North London derby.
Commenting on Tielemans, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has stated that Arsenal face competition from two other clubs to sign the player.
But he has stressed that the Gunners must qualify for the European Cup to have any hope of landing Tielemans.
Romano tweeted: “There are three top clubs interested in Youri Tielemans, he’s gonna (sic) leave Leicester after new deal turned down months ago.
“Arsenal are discussing Tielemans internally since January.
“He’s considered one of best options in the list, still nothing agreed. UCL will be key.”
As well as Arsenal and Real, Manchester United and Tottenham have also been linked with the 2021 FA Cup winner.
