But he is surprised the offer — which is set to be rejected — has been made during Euro 2020. Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the mix for Kane, who wants to leave his boyhood club after the tournament.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is determined to keep his man, who has three years left on a £230,000-a-week deal.

Levy has put a £150m price tag on the player’s head.

Kane, who will lead England against Czech Republic tonight, has not handed in a written transfer request.

But has made it known he wants out and hopes Levy will let him leave at the right price.

City boss Pep Guardiola does not expect any serious movement on their major transfer targets until after the summer’s international tournaments are concluded.

But the Prem champions are prepared to throw players like Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus into the deal.

Aymeric Laporte is another who could be involved in a swap transfer.

They remain interested in Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish but they may have to move out some midfielders to make room for him.

Manchester United’s £89m move for Paul Pogba in 2016 remains the highest transfer in Premier League history.

Speculation surrounding England skipper Kane’s club career has dominated the headlines in recent weeks after he told Tottenham he wanted out.

It is believed Levy wants to keep his star player in North London, despite the two reportedly having a gentleman’s agreement allowing him to depart.

If the Tottenham boss does allow Kane to go, rumours suggest Levy isn’t interested in a swap deal.

Some believe the speculation surrounding Kane has affected his England form after two disappointing performances against Croatia and Scotland.

Manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed his captain WILL start against Czech Republic on Tuesday, June 22 – a game England can’t afford to lose.

Defeat could leave Southgate’s side third in Group D and in danger of elimination from Euro 2020.

But Kane has vowed to finish the tournament strongly as England aim to become European champions for the first time.

The striker has told the press: “I know what I’m capable of.

“Score a couple on Tuesday and everyone is talking about the Golden Boot again and how far we’re going to go.

“It’s just about believing in each other. I believe in myself. That’s the only way to be – and it’s the best way to be.”

The bookies currently think Kane will stay at Tottenham beyond this summer, with City favourites to sign him if he moves on.
